Hey!
Have you built your profile, are posting regularly, and your community is growing? Then it's time for the next step: finding collaborations. Here, I'll tell you how you can land your first clients and brands as an influencer.
Make yourself visible
Before brands can discover you, you have to give them the chance. That means:
- Use relevant hashtags (e.g. #beautycreator #skincarelover #influencermarketing)
- Link brands you love in your stories and posts
- Actively comment on the profiles of your desired brands
This way you get on their radar without appearing pushy.
Create a media kit
A media kit is like your resume as a creator. It should include:
- A brief introduction about you
- Your reach (number of followers, engagement rate)
- Examples of your best posts
- Target group (age, interests, countries)
- Contact options
Tip: Your media kit doesn't have to be complicated. A nice PDF is enough. The main thing is that it looks neat and appealing.
Active approach: Pitch like a pro
Don't just wait to be discovered. Contact brands yourself!
Good news could look like this:
"Hi [brand name] team, I'm [your name], a skincare and beauty creator from [location]. I love your products (especially [product name]) and would love to collaborate with you. You can find my media kit here [link/attachment]. I'm looking forward to a potential collaboration!"
Be friendly, brief and confident.
Use platforms
There are platforms that bring influencers and brands together:
- InfluencerDB
- Collabary
- Reachbird
- Upfluence
Here you can sign up and apply for campaigns. Some platforms require a minimum number of followers, but many are also open to smaller creators.
Small brands = big opportunities
To start with, focus on smaller brands or start-ups – like Flam Skin!
These brands are often more open to collaborations with micro or nano influencers (less than 10k followers) and often pay better than you think.
Nurture your relationships
If you get a collaboration, give it 110%. Post on time, deliver quality, and stay friendly. A satisfied customer will often return – or recommend you to others.
Important: Negotiate fairly
Even if it's tempting to do everything for free at first, your work has value. A free product might be okay for a while, but in the long run, you should be paid for your time and reach.
Don't be afraid to charge small fees. You can find guidelines online, or start with a fair flat fee.
Do you want to build a real partnership with a brand that focuses on naturalness and real stories?
